The Private School Advantage:
Accountability Tuition driven schools demand and deserve the highest levels of accountability
between families and the school. Private schools also tend to foster a family
atmosphere whereby everyone knows one another and has everyone’s best
interest at heart.
Accessibility A smaller school population necessarily means greater access and easier
channels of communication between parents and administrators and teachers.
The same holds true for students and their individual teachers as well.
Comfortability Although we do not desire for students to become complacent in their own comfort
zone, it is clear that smaller classes and surroundings enhance a more
comfortable learning environment.
The Christian School Advantage:
Biblically Based Students will learn to see the world through the filter of a biblically based lens.
There is no truth outside of God and His Word. Consequently, every aspect of
SMLCA will stand on the principles set forth from God’s Word.
Christian Curriculum There is an abundance of excellent and highly effective Christian based curricula, as
well as secular curricula that can be taught from a biblical worldview.
SMLCA is in the process of assimilating the best for its needs.
Faithful Faculty To a large degree, teachers are the school. Our faculty will not only be excellent in
their discipline, they will be faithful to affirm all the values instilled in the students
at home. We will be guided by the old adage, "Students don't care what we know
until they know that we care."
Integrity Institute SMLCA students will begin each day in the Integrity Institute where they will
participate in an exclusive curriculum designed around the four principles of the
school’s mission: becoming physically fit and academically acute while learning
to be selfless servants and acquiring a mind for the Master.
Power of Prayer SMLCA will be a praying community. It’s been said that as long as there are exams,
students will pray in school! However, we will seek to instill a “pray without
ceasing” mindset amongst the students.
Joy of Jesus Although hard work and discipline in schools will never be replaced, we see no
reason that learning is mutually exclusive of fun and joy. In fact, one of our principles
is that it should be a sin for school to be boring. Paul said to be joyful always…
we shall strive to be!
Exceptional Extra-curriculars:
Electives We believe the local area to be inundated with exceptional opportunities
in the arts and music. Our goal is to utilize the wealth of local talent but strive to go
beyond the normal offerings.
PE/Athletics We strongly believe that a balanced and well rounded educational experience
demands rigorous and physically challenging opportunities. We also strongly
believe that the concepts acquired through team sports – hard work, dedication,
loyalty, commitment, self-sacrifice, teamwork – are all biblical principles and are
vital to be successful in today’s society.
