Reading & Phonics

Nov 15th, 2010 | By | Category: Kindergarten Newsletter

We will be practicing our blends at both the front and back end of words. We will be learning our first digraph (2 consonants that make 1 sound) the “th” sound. It can say sounds as in “feather” and “thimble.” Our sight words this week are “for” and “said.” we will be learning about syllables. Learning to break words into smaller pieces will enable us to be able to read and write larger words. We are working to become Reading Detectives looking for clues to help us become great readers. Please look for a sheet in your child’s folder for some tips to use at home too.
