Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy announced today that Halesford Baptist Church has given its approval to host the academy for its inaugural school year.

There could not be a more ideal site for us to begin our first year of school than Halesford Baptist Church. The location itself is extremely accessible to most of Franklin and Bedford Counties. It is highly visible, situated at the intersection of Lost Mountain Road and Rt 122. There are plenty of spacious classrooms, not to mention access to a full-sized gymnasium and an outdoor playground and ballfield. We simply could not have scripted anything better.

Our Curriculum Team has been working for months developing the finest custom designed program for SMLCA. Teacher interviews have begun and we are very excited about the response so far. We plan on having our calendar of next year's major dates and our comprehensive Parent-Student Handbook posted on the website by May 6. 

I would urge you to submit your application (may be downloaded at www.smlacademy.com) as soon as possible. With the Halesford announcement and the applications on hand so far, there is the possibility that some grade levels may max out.
